The Pixel Fold has reportedly passed through FCC certification, ahead of its rumored announcement at Google I/O 2023. The filing provides the model number G9FPL and indicates that the device will include support for Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G, and Ultrawide Band (UWB). The inclusion of UWB suggests that Google is positioning the Pixel Fold as a premium device, in line with its rumored price tag of $1,700.
According to previous leaks, the Pixel Fold is expected to feature a 5.8-inch cover screen, a 7.6-inch foldable display, the Google Tensor G2 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. The device is also rumored to include a triple rear-camera setup and a selfie camera on both the cover screen and inner display. With the Pixel Fold’s FCC certification, we are one step closer to seeing a true competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the US market.
