Google has released an update to the first beta version of Android 14, labeled as Beta 1.1, aimed at fixing several bugs in the initial release. The second beta version is due next month, but Google deemed it necessary to address some of the more annoying bugs found in the first beta release right away.
The new build, labeled UPB1.230309.017.A1 for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a units on Verizon, and UPB1.230309.017 for all others, is now available over-the-air for Pixel 4a 5G and later models enrolled in the Android Beta Program. The rollout is expected to take at least a few days to reach all eligible devices.
Among the issues fixed in the Android 14 Beta 1.1 patch, some include fixing fingerprint unlock, resolving the issue where the status bar did not display the mobile network, resolving an issue where a SIM card or eSIM was not detected or activated in some cases, and addressing the issue where the system UI crashed when trying to access the Wallpaper & Style screen.
Google has advised all eligible devices to update to the latest build to ensure that they do not face any of these issues. As usual, the beta version is not intended for the general public and should only be installed by experienced users who are willing to deal with bugs and compatibility issues.
