Google has announced the release of its latest A-Series phone, the Google Pixel 7a, which promises to deliver all the helpfulness of Google for less. The device is built with Google Tensor G2, the company’s flagship processor, and Titan M2, a dedicated security chip, making it faster, more efficient and more secure. Packed with many of the must-have features of Google’s premium phones, the Pixel 7a provides the core Pixel experience starting at $499.
The device has the same familiar design as Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, with its iconic Pixel camera bar and smooth, sculpted surfaces. It features an all-new midframe architecture, making it Google’s most durable A-series yet. The aluminum housing is made with 100% recycled content, demonstrating the company’s continued commitment to sustainability. The device comes in four colors, Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral, and Pixel Buds A-Series are also launching in a new color, Sea.
Pixel 7a includes all the AI-powered Pixel Call Assist features, making it the best phone for phone calls. Direct My Call lets you see menu options and get to the right department quicker when calling businesses, while Call Screen tells you who’s calling and why before you pick up. Hold for Me waits on the line so you don’t have to, and Clear Calling enhances the caller’s voice and reduces background noise. Wait Times gives you an estimated time you’ll be on hold for when calling a business.
The device’s upgraded camera system features a 72% larger sensor than Pixel 6a, allowing for 44% more light. The all-new 13-megapixel ultrawide lens captures more in your shots, and Night Sight is twice as fast as on Pixel 6a. The front camera can capture 4K video, and for the first time on an A-series, Pixel 7a has Long Exposure, which can add texture and energy when photographing things in motion. Thanks to Tensor G2, Pixel 7a includes Super Res Zoom up to 8x to give you sharp, high-quality images so you’ll never miss a detail when taking photos from further away.
