Apple TV 4K Gets FaceTime and Enhanced Features in Software Update

Apple has announced exciting software updates for Apple TV 4K, set to launch in the fall. The updates, including tvOS 17, introduce new features that enhance the overall user experience. One of the highlights is the arrival of FaceTime on Apple TV 4K, enabling users to engage in immersive conversations with friends and family directly on their television.

The update also introduces an all-new Control Center, providing easy access to settings and information. With the A15 Bionic chip, seamless integration with Apple devices and smart home accessories, and access to popular streaming apps, Apple TV 4K remains the top choice for a living room device. Developers can leverage Continuity Camera support to create shared entertainment experiences and upcoming video conferencing apps like Webex and Zoom will be available on Apple TV 4K.

Additionally, the update brings improvements to Apple Music Sing and screen savers, along with features like enhanced dialogue, Dolby Vision 8.1 support, Apple Fitness+ enhancements, and third-party VPN support. The tvOS 17 update is currently available as a developer beta and will be a free software update in the fall.
